Cycling

The Antigua & Barbuda Amateur Cycling Association - Organise mountain bike races which visitors are welcome to participate in. Companies that can arrange mountain bike trips include:

Bike Plus, St John’s - Adults mountain-bike rentals.

Cycle Krazy, St John’s - Adult mountain bike and helmet rentals. Guided group tours available.

Paradise Boat Sales, Jolly Harbour - Mountain and other bicycle rentals from US$15 per day to U$70 per week, including child seat and locks.

Health & Fitness

Several of the hotels have gyms, but you will also find some independent gyms in St John’s which would be happy to allow you to be a member for a day or a week.

National Fitness Centre, St John’s - Professional gym with free weights, exercise and weight machines with trained instructors. Daily step and aerobic classes. Changing rooms, locker and showers. Open Mon-Sat.

Paradise Fitness, St John’s - Air-conditioned gym. Aerobic and step classes, weight training machines. Juice bar, health supplements shop, changing rooms, lockers and showers. Open daily.

Running

Antigua Hash House Harriers - Started in 1991 in Antigua, the Hash House Harriers meet every other Saturday afternoon, year-round. Runs can attract up to 100 people of all ages to run, jog, walk or stroll the route. The courses often pass through remote areas of the country and so they offer a good opportunity to see places that you would not otherwise see. Afternoons end with a bring-your-own barbeque and the traditional hash bar.

Sport Fishing

Sport fishing is a popular pastime in Antigua and Barbuda’s Codrington Lagoon is noted for bone-fishing and sport fishing, though only Barbudan boats can be used.

Tennis and Squash

BBR Sportive Ltd, Jolly Harbour - Four floodlit tennis courts, two clay and two astroturf. Glass backed squash court. The sports centre also has a 25m swimming pool, half basketball court, equipment hire, showers and locker rooms and a restaurant.

Temo Sports Complex, Falmouth Harbour - Floodlit synthetic grass courts and two glass backed squash courts, with equipment for rental. Bar serves snacks and satellite TV for sporting events.
