St Eustatius / Sport
St Eustatius is not a destination for sports enthusiasts, but the islanders have an interest in major events with basketball the most closely followed sport.
Cycling
St Eustatius is suitable for cycling but this is not a major interest.
Golf
There are no golf courses on St Eustatius. One alternative is the somewhat run-down Mullet Bay Golf Course on St Maarten, or for top class facilities head to the Greg Norman-designed Temenos Golf Club on Anguilla.
Hiking/Walking
Hiking is a rewarding experience on St Eustatius. If you only do one walk, make it the Crater Trail that leads up to the rim of the Quill where you can peer down into its hidden forests. Information on trails and the hiring of guides is available from the St Eustatius Tourist Office in Fort Oranje (Oranjestad Upper Town) or the offices of STENAPA, the St Eustatius National Parks Foundation (Oranjestad Lower Town, both closed weekends).
Other (Motor Sports, Rallying etc)
Races and events with cars, motorbikes and scooters are held as part of island celebrations such as Statia Day on 16 November.
